Vasai-Virar civic clerk held by Maha ACB for bribery

A clerk in the Vasai Virar CityMunicipal Corporation was arrested for allegedly demanding andaccepting a bribe for a issuing a marriage certificate, aMaharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau official said Saturday

Ghanshyam Gusekar (34) demanded Rs 1200 from a personfor issuing a marriage certificate, following which the latterapproached the Palghar unit of the ACB, deputy superintendentKS Hegaje said

"A trap was laid on Friday in the VVCMC ward officeand Gusekar was held while accepting the bribe amount from thecomplainant. He has been charged under the Prevention ofCorruption Act," the Dy SP said.
