Smoke from parcel in Guj post office causes panic

A parcel emitting smoke andsparks in a post office in Ahmedabad caused panic among thestaff there, following which police and Forensic Laboratorypersonnel were called in to probe the incident, an officialsaid Monday

The parcel was sent from Anjar in Kutch district toJhansi in Uttar Pradesh but was returned from the consigneeaddress, he said, adding that the incident happened on Sundaynight

"Primary investigation carried out by police and FSLteam has revealed that the parcel contained inflammablematerial used in making firecrackers. Nobody was hurt in theincident," DCP Niraj Badgujar said.
