'Raksha Bandhan' celebrated in Telangana

'Raksha Bandhan', the festival symbolising the bond between siblings, was celebrated with fervour and gaiety in Telangana on Thursday. Sisters tied 'rakhis' to their brothers the traditional way in the state.

Governor ESL Narasimhan participated in 'Raksha Bandhan' celebrations at the Raj Bhavan. Former TRS MP K Kavitha tied 'rakhi' to her brother K T Rama Rao, who is the working president of TRS. Both are children of TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The sisters of Chandrasekhar Rao tied 'rakhi' to his wrist, a release from the Chief Minister's office said. Congress women leaders tied 'rakhi' to state party president N Uttam Kumar Reddy at Gandhi Bhavan, the party headquarters in Telangana.

Similarly, women leaders tied 'rakhi' to state BJP president K Laxman and senior party leader Bandaru Dattatreya. PTI SJR NVG NVG.
