2 arrested for cheating, possessing fake currency

Two men have been arrested from Badarpur in south Delhi on charges of cheating and possessing fake currency, police said on Wednesday. The arrests were made on the complaint of 35-year-old Manoj Kumar Sahani, who claimed the accused, Raj Shinghaniya and Hemraj, cheated him of Rs 3 lakh.

Sahani, a contractor of tiles, said the duo met him on June 23 when he was carrying Rs 3 lakh in a bag. The complaint said the accused cleverly exchanged Rs 6 lakh in fake currency with Rs 3 lakh in his bag.

On the basis of inputs, police nabbed the duo from Badarpur recently, police said.
