Senior IAS officer Rajiv Kumar will be new Finance Secretary: Govt order

Senior IAS officer Rajiv Kumar, Secretary in the Department of Financial Services at the Ministry of Finance will be the new Finance Secretary. According to official orders, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet which was headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the designation of Kumar as the new Finance Secretary.

Rajiv Kumar is a 1984 batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre. The designation of Kumar as the Finance Secretary comes in the backdrop of transfer of Subhash Chandra Garg as the power secretary who already sought voluntary retirement from service.
