Head of govt sugar factory commits suicide

The head of a cooperative sugar factory here allegedly committed suicide Monday afternoon by shooting himself with a revolver, police said.
Pradip Nimbalkar, who was elected chairperson of Shri Chhatrapati Cooperative Sugar Factory on October 31, was declared dead on arrival after being rushed with a bullet injury from his residence in Sansar area of Indapur tehsil here to a hospital in Baramati, an official said.
The official said that a suicide note, which was yet to be verified, had been found at the scene of the incident. "The incident took place around 2.30 pm on Monday at his residence. Upon hearing a bullet shot, family members ran towards a first-floor room in the house and found Nimbalkar in a pool of blood," the official said.
