4 friends drowned in Hooghly river

Three persons drowned and one was missing in the river Hooghly in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district Sunday, police said.
The four persons all friends went to the Kulpi I ghat to take a dip in the river Hooghly. They were swept away by the strong current, the police said. Bodies of three persons were found while the search was on for the missing person, the Superintendent of Police of Sunderban Police district, Tathagata Basu said. The four persons were all residents of the Baruipur town of the district, Basu said.
