The increase in legal culture in private and public enterprises has allowed the reduction of labour infringements in the province of Bié, with the General Labor Inspectorate (IGT) registered from January to September 2018, 368 transgressions, minus 810 in relation to the same previous period.

The head of the inspection department in the province of Bié, António Kakuarta, revealed the information noting that the offences resulted from 149 visits to public and private companies. The violations damaged one thousand and 203 workers.

Due to several non-compliances registered in the municipalities of Cuito, Chinguar and Andulo, 19 fines were imposed, which allowed the collection of 358 thousand Kwanzas to the state coffers, and 15 cases were referred to the court, given the seriousness of the transgressions.

IGT resolved 159 requests for labour mediation, which resulted in the indemnification of three million and 491,000 Kwanzas, the reframing of 40 workers, as well as the notification of three work accidents in the areas of civil construction, commerce, hotels, among others.

The irregularities are mainly due to the lack of payment of salaries on time, holiday subsidies, non-registration of workers in the social security system, lack of professional qualifications, non-working hours, lack of equipment, internal regulations, registration, among other anomalies.

The province of Bié has one million and 455 thousand 255 inhabitants, distributed in nine municipalities: Andulo, Catabola, Camacupa, Cunhinga, Chitembo, Nhârea, Cuemba and Chinguar.
