Luanda-based Stone Polished Diamond, which is recently launched, is expected to observe an augmentation of output from the current 2000 carats to 3000 carats per months by 2020.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Diamond Trading Society of Angola (Sodiam), Eugénio Pereira da Rosa, another focus of the newly unveiled Angola’s diamond and special stones polishing firm is to increase the number of direct and indirect jobs from 70 to 400 employees in 2019, mainly for the citizens of Angola. The firm, whose budget is of over USD 5 million is a private and Sodiam investment and is to initially polish rough diamonds of three to ten carats and special stones with equal or higher 10.8 carats.

Eugénio Pereira da Rosa added that another diamond cutting and polishing firm estimated at USD 10 million is due to be built in Saurimo, eastern Lunda Sul Province, whose construction works are to kick off March this year.
