Transmission Company of Nigeria collaborates with 36 govts to boost electricity network

The Transmission Company of Nigeria is joining hands with 36 state governments on the Right of Way to expand the electricity transmission networks.
The Managing Director of Transmission Company of Nigeria, Usman Mohammed opined in the third quarter 2019 briefing released recently that the Right of Way was the right to make a way over a piece of land usually to and from another piece of land for the transmission lines.
"Transmission Company of Nigeria under the current management devised a strategy for collaborating with these states for the expansion of transmission networks of 25 meters on both sides for 330 kilovolt lines and 15 meters on both sides for 132 kilovolt lines," Usman Mohammed said.
According to him, the Transmission Company of Nigeria was collaborating the governments of Lagos, Ondo, Edo, Ogun, Kano, Katsina, Abia, Borno, Kebbi and Yobe states. "Under similar arrangement, Transmission Company of Nigeria entered into agreement with Enugu State Government under which the 132 kilovolt substation by the Niger Delta Power Holding Company over four years was energised within two months. After the stringing of the 5km Transmission line off the New Haven -Oturkpo I32 kilovolt line," he added.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria is currently undergoing vital transformation and a pragmatic and innovative alteration intended at resolving major challenges of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
