Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi and Chief Minister M K Stalin paid floral tributes to a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi on his 75th death anniversary at the government museum here on Monday.

The Governor, who administered a pledge against untouchability to school students, officers and staff of the Raj Bhavan here, said he is humbled and inspired by Bapu's vision of Bharat.

''On this day, let us rededicate ourselves to building a fully developed self-confident and compassionate Bharat of his and all the martyrs' dreams in Amrit Kal,'' Ravi said in a tweet.

State Ministers and officials, too, joined the Governor and Chief Minister in paying homage to the Mahatma.

Paying rich tributes to Gandhi, Stalin said, ''He (Gandhi) ensured unity among Indians through non-violence, but became a victim to a violent fanatic. Let's take a pledge on this day to ensure that unity shines in society.'' Later, the Chief Minister administered the untouchability pledge to the officers and staff at the Secretariat.
