China will strive to achieve full-year economic targets and push forward high-quality development, state radio reported on Monday, citing Li Qiang, a Chinese Communist Party Politburo Standing Committee member.
The economy had a strong start, but it still faces many difficulties and challenges, state media quoted Li as saying during a meeting with government advisors on economy.
A former Shanghai party chief and longtime ally of China's President Xi Jinping, Li is expected to be confirmed as premier, tasked with reinvigorating the world's second-largest economy during the ongoing National People's Congress.
