UK PM Sunak says he was vindicated over decision to invite China to AI summit
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on Thursday he had been vindicated in inviting China to his AI summit, and Beijing's decision to appear showed Britain's ability to convene key players to discuss major global issues.
"It speaks to our ability to convene people, to bring them together," Sunak said at a press conference. "It wasn't an easy decision to invite China, and lots of people criticised me for it, but I think it was the right long-term decision."
