Malaysia says purview of Pardons Board to announce decision on jailed ex-PM Najib's clemency bid

Malaysia's home affairs minister said on Wednesday the cabinet had discussed a request by jailed former Prime Minister Najib Razak for a royal pardon.

It will be up to the discretion of the country's Pardons Board to announce a decision on that request, Saifuddin Nasution Ismail told reporters.
