North Macedonia's opposition candidate Siljanovska-Davkova holds lead in presidential vote

North Macedonia's presidential race headed for a run-off vote, an official count of ballots from a half the polling stations suggested on Wednesday, with opposition's Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova in the lead ahead of President Stevo Pendarovski. Siljanovska-Davkova secured the backing of 36.99% of votes while Pendarovski trailed with 18.18% of votes according to 50.86% of polling stations processed by the State Election Commission.

The result suggests a runoff on May 8 as no candidate breached the 50% of votes required to win outright.
