West Bengal Sees 58.46% Voter Turnout by 3 PM in Final Election Phase
A voter turnout of 58.46% was recorded in nine Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal by 3 PM on Saturday during the final phase of elections. The highest turnout was in Basirhat at 66.76%. The Election Commission received 2,667 complaints and deployed significant security measures.

In the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, West Bengal witnessed a voter turnout of 58.46% by 3 PM on Saturday. According to an Election Commission official, polling commenced at 7 AM and will continue until 6 PM.
Basirhat constituency recorded the highest voter turnout at 66.76%, followed by Mathurapur at 63.66%, Jaynagar at 62.24%, Diamond Harbour at 61.08%, and Barasat at 59.69%. Turnout in Jadavpur was reported at 56.49%, Dum Dum at 53.06%, Kolkata Uttar at 51.22%, and Kolkata Dakshin at 50.61%. The Baranagar by-poll saw a 53.4% turnout by 3 PM.
The Election Commission has so far received 2,667 complaints. A total of 1,63,40,345 voters, including 80,20,326 women and 538 belonging to the third gender, are eligible to vote across 17,470 polling stations. To ensure security, 967 companies of central forces and over 33,000 state police personnel have been deployed.
