Congress's young MLA Shafi Parambil is securing a significant lead with 12,639 votes in the highly contested Vadakara constituency in north Kerala, outpacing his closest rival, CPI (M)'s K K Shailja.

Initially, Parambil had a modest start with just over 80 votes lead when postal votes were counted. Throughout various phases of the tallying process, both candidates exchanged leads at intervals.

However, as the counting progressed, Parambil's lead became more prominent. According to the latest figures from the Election Commission, his lead has now solidified to a substantial margin of 12,639 votes.
