As the general election results continue to unfold, two of the three Union ministers from West Bengal are trailing in their respective constituencies, according to data from the Election Commission.

Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar is trailing in the Bankura constituency by 14,932 votes against Arup Chakraborty of the Trinamool Congress. Similarly, Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik is behind by 7,339 votes in Cooch Behar, facing a tough battle against TMC's Jagadish Chandra Barma Basunia.

However, there is some positive news for the BJP as Shantanu Thakur, the Union Minister of State from Bangaon, leads the race by 34,464 votes over TMC's Biswajit Das.
