Suresh Gopi Secures Historic Win in Thrissur
Suresh Gopi, BJP candidate and actor-turned-politician, won the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat by 74,686 votes. This marks BJP's first seat in the state. Gopi defeated CPI's V S Sunilkumar and Congress's K Muraleedharan. Gopi had previously lost in Thrissur in the 2019 Lok Sabha and 2021 state assembly polls.

Suresh Gopi, the BJP candidate and actor-turned-politician, won the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat by a remarkable margin of 74,686 votes, as confirmed by the Election Commission on Tuesday.
This victory marks a historic milestone for the BJP, as it opened its maiden account in the state for the lower house of Parliament.
Gopi triumphed over CPI leader V S Sunilkumar in a gripping contest. Gopi accumulated a total of 4,12,338 votes, while Sunilkumar managed to gather 3,37,652 votes. Congress's veteran leader and MP, K Muraleedharan, secured the third position with 3,28,124 votes.
It is noteworthy that Gopi had faced electoral defeats from Thrissur in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the 2021 state assembly polls before this significant win.
