Narrow Margins in Delhi: AAP's Reflections Post-Election

The Aam Aadmi Party observed that victory margins in Delhi were narrow even though the BJP triumphed as in previous general elections. AAP MP Sandeep Pathak noted that while AAP-Congress alliance failed in Delhi, AAP's vote share in Punjab showed significant improvement, securing three seats this time.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) highlighted the narrow victory margins in the recent Delhi elections despite the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) maintaining its stronghold since 2014. Addressing a press conference, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak emphasized that the INDIA bloc performed commendably under challenging circumstances.

Pathak pointed out that voters in Delhi adhered to their historical preference for BJP in Lok Sabha elections and AAP or other parties in Vidhan Sabha elections. This pattern was evident once again as the AAP-Congress alliance failed to secure any seats, and BJP achieved a clean sweep.

In a notable development in Punjab, where AAP contested independently, the party won three seats, improving from just one seat in the last election. Pathak highlighted that AAP's vote share in Punjab increased from seven percent, showcasing a positive trajectory despite failing to meet their highest expectations.
