Delhi BJP Aims for 2025 Assembly Success After Lok Sabha Sweep

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva claims the recent Lok Sabha election results indicate a shift in voter preference towards the BJP for the upcoming 2025 assembly polls. He argues that the BJP has secured substantial victories across multiple assembly segments, showing a rejection of the AAP by Delhi’s electorate.

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva suggested on Thursday that the recent Lok Sabha election outcomes signal a shift in voter sentiment towards the BJP ahead of the 2025 assembly polls. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), having secured wins in all seven Delhi seats in the 2014 and 2019 elections, swept the city once again on Tuesday.

'Our opponents claimed vote splits enabled the BJP's past Lok Sabha wins, yet this time the AAP and Congress were both defeated despite their alliance,' Sachdeva said in a press conference. He added that the results also indicate Delhiites' disdain for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) corruption, presenting the BJP as the sought-after alternative in the upcoming assembly elections.

'The Bharatiya Janata Party is that alternative,' he stated, suggesting that a BJP-led double engine government at both the Centre and Delhi would transform the national capital into a world-class city. Sachdeva noted that the BJP had leads over the AAP-Congress alliance in 52 of the 70 assembly segments within the city's seven parliamentary constituencies during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Highlighting the party's strong performance in nine out of 12 Scheduled Caste reserved constituencies, he emphasized that Delhi citizens are looking for change after decades of Congress and AAP governance.

'The BJP will bring better facilities and overall improvements to Delhi,' he promised.
