AIADMK's Comeback: Palaniswami Denies Setback Allegations

AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami asserted on Saturday that his party showed marked improvement in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls compared to the 2019 elections, despite not securing any seats. He criticized BJP leader K Annamalai, suggesting that a lack of competent leadership led to the BJP not achieving a majority.

Addressing the media for the first time post-2024 Lok Sabha election results, Palaniswami rejected the notion that an alliance with the BJP could have yielded more seats for the AIADMK. Instead, he claimed alliances with DMK allies would have swept all seats in Tamil Nadu.

Despite facing substantial challenges, including a 'defamatory and disinformation campaign', Palaniswami highlighted that the AIADMK's vote share rose by one percent compared to 2019. He vehemently denied media portrayals of the BJP's growth in Tamil Nadu and reiterated that the AIADMK performed significantly better, particularly in historical context.
