Prachanda to Attend Modi’s Milestone Swearing-In

Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal 'Prachanda' will travel to New Delhi to join Narendra Modi's third-term swearing-in ceremony as India's Prime Minister. Prachanda will be accompanied by high-ranking Nepalese officials and will return on June 10, following felicitations on Modi's electoral success.

Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal 'Prachanda' is set to depart for New Delhi this Sunday, marking his attendance at the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi, who will assume the office of India's Prime Minister for the third consecutive term.

Modi’s swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for Sunday evening, and it will be a significant political event.

“Prime Minister Prachanda is paying an official visit to India starting from Sunday at the cordial invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the swearing-in ceremony to be held on June 9 in New Delhi,” a statement from Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed.

Prachanda will be accompanied by his daughter, Ganga Dahal, along with Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Padam Giri and other high-ranking officials from the Nepalese government.

The Prime Minister will return to Nepal on June 10. Earlier on Tuesday, Prachanda extended congratulations to Modi for the electoral victory of his party-led alliance.

“Congratulations to PM @narendramodi on the electoral success of BJP and NDA in the Lok Sabha elections for the third consecutive term. We are happy to note the successful completion of the world’s largest democratic exercise with enthusiastic participation of the people of India,” Prachanda posted on his X account.

Prachanda’s previous official visit to India took place from October 4 to 7 last year.

Modi's swearing-in is anticipated to be attended by leaders from various neighboring countries, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Mauritius, Seychelles, and the Maldives, as part of India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy.
