On Sunday, the national capital sizzled at a maximum temperature of 42.5 degrees Celsius, 2.5 degrees above the season's average, according to the India Meteorological Department.

The weather department forecasts mainly clear skies with strong winds for the day Narendra Modi is set to be sworn in as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. The ceremony will take place at Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7.15 pm.

Humidity levels were recorded at 16 percent at 5.30 am. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the Air Quality Index (AQI) for the national capital was logged in the 'moderate' category with a reading of 181 at 6 pm. An AQI between 101 and 200 is considered 'moderate', indicating moderately polluted air.
