On Sunday, the Congress party condemned a devastating terror attack that took place on a bus transporting pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. The attack tragically resulted in the deaths of nine individuals and left 33 others injured, showcasing the precarious security situation in the region.
According to reports, terrorists opened fire on the 53-seater bus en route from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra, leading the vehicle to veer off the road and plunge into a deep gorge near Teryath village around 6:15 pm.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other party leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, criticized the government’s handling of the situation, emphasizing the continuous threat of terrorism. They extended their condolences to the victims' families and called for immediate assistance and compensation for them.
