Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday condemned the terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir, as a 'cowardly attack.'

Adityanath expressed his grief and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, while praying for a speedy recovery for the injured. 'I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant the departed souls a place at his holy feet,' he wrote on X in Hindi.

The Chief Minister stated that he had directed the Additional Chief Secretary Home and Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh to contact the local administration and ensure proper treatment and safety of the injured. The attack resulted in the deaths of nine people and injuries to 33 others after the bus fell into a gorge near Teryath village.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also condemned the attack, calling it 'extremely cowardly and condemnable' while praying for the recovery of the injured.
