Chirag Paswan Rallies LJP Members on Split Anniversary

Chirag Paswan, the president of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), commemorated the third anniversary of his party's split by swearing in members and emphasizing lifelong dedication. He highlighted the party's resurgence despite internal challenges and affirmed its commitment to supporting marginalized communities.

Chirag Paswan, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president and Union minister, on Thursday swore in its members, including newly-elected MPs, to lifelong dedication to the party. This ceremony marked the third anniversary of the party's split that cast doubt on his political trajectory.

The event echoed the fissure within the party, initiated by his uncle and former MP Pashupati Kumar Paras, as Paswan gathered parliamentarians and party members to renew their loyalty. They took an oath to perpetuate the party's ideology and advocate for Dalits, backwards, minorities, and the economically disadvantaged.

Paswan praised the party's rise from adversity, noting its clean sweep in the recent polls despite the defection of four MPs. Reflecting on his family's fracture and his uncle's role, he expressed his determination to move forward. Underlining his strengthened political position, Paswan pointed out his induction into Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Cabinet and the portfolio once held by Paras.
