Spain Keeps Patriot Missile in Turkey Despite Zelenskiy's Request

Spain will keep its Patriot missile launcher in Turkey, despite Ukrainian President Zelenskiy's request for European defense support. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez confirmed Spain's commitment during a joint news conference with Turkish President Erdogan in Madrid, emphasizing the strategic placement of the defense system.

Spain's Patriot missile launcher will remain in Turkey despite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's appeals for European governments to supply such defence systems to Kyiv, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said on Thursday.

"Despite it being an element of conversation with the Ukrainian government, the Spanish government's commitment is to have the Patriot launcher remain in Turkey," Sanchez told a news conference held alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Madrid.
