Congress Sets Sights on 2024 Kerala Local Body Polls

Emboldened by their success in the Lok Sabha polls in Kerala, the Congress party has shifted its focus to next year's local body elections. KPCC President K Sudhakaran chaired a meeting to plan the campaign, with a leadership conclave scheduled for mid-July in Wayanad.

Emboldened by a resounding victory in Kerala's Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party has set its sights on the state's local body polls next year.

In a strategy meeting chaired by KPCC President K Sudhakaran, leaders planned the roadmap to cap their recent electoral success. The Congress-led UDF's victory in 18 out of the 20 seats propelled the party to aim higher in regional governance.

A dedicated Leaders Conclave will be held on July 15 and 16 in Wayanad, the new electoral battleground for Priyanka Gandhi. Party leaders, including AICC figures, KPCC office-bearers, and allied organization representatives, are slated to attend.

The KPCC aims to address financial issues plaguing local bodies, attributing the crisis to state government fund allocation delays, and warns of potential agitations if resolutions are not met in time.

Additionally, the KPCC urged Rahul Gandhi to take on the role of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, reinforcing their commitment to strong leadership.
