In a notable development, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail by a court in connection with a money laundering case rooted in the alleged excise scam. The decision has ignited political discourse, especially after Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal's stinging remarks targeting the government.

Sibal congratulated Kejriwal via a social media post, but also pointed out the perceived motivations behind the prosecution's actions, hinting that the necessity to keep Kejriwal in jail faded with the conclusion of elections.

Special Judge Niyay Bindu, who presided over the case, not only granted Kejriwal bail but also dismissed the Enforcement Directorate's request to delay the order by 48 hours to seek further legal avenues. Kejriwal's bail comes with stipulations including a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh, requirements to cooperate with the investigation, and conditions to not hamper the probe or influence witnesses.
