Assam Congress Blames BJP for NEET-UG Paper Leaks

Assam Congress president Bhupen Kumar Borah has accused BJP-ruled states of being central to question paper leaks, with NEET-UG as the latest instance. Leading a protest, he highlighted instances in Gujarat and Bihar. NSUI members also protested but were stopped by police. Allegations have led to widespread dissatisfaction and legal petitions.

Assam Congress President Bhupen Kumar Borah on Friday accused states governed by the BJP and its allies of becoming the epicenters of question paper leaks, citing the recent NEET-UG examination as a prime example. Borah made these claims during a demonstration against alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam.

“It has become clear that question paper leaks are happening repeatedly in BJP-ruled states, including in Assam,” Borah stated, asserting that Gujarat and Bihar have emerged as key centers in the latest NEET-UG irregularities. He blamed the central government for failing to conduct the examination smoothly.

Several Congress MLAs, leaders, and members of its student wing, the NSUI, joined the protest. The NSUI members attempted to protest outside the office but were restrained by the police. The NEET-UG exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency on May 5, saw about 24 lakh candidates. Allegations of paper leaks in Bihar and other irregularities prompted multiple protests and legal actions.
