Close on the heels of the demolition of the under-construction YSRCP central office at Tadepalli in Andhra Pradesh, multiple district offices of the party have begun receiving notices regarding the legitimacy of their construction.

According to a notice shared by the opposition party, the Vizianagaram district office has been targeted by the local civic body, which has instructed YSRCP to halt all unauthorized work and respond within seven days. Failure to do so, warned the Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation, would lead to continuous and intentional offence charges under Section 452 (1) and 461 (1) of the APMC Act, 1955.

Other YSRCP district offices have received similar notices, prompting the opposition to allege political targeting by the NDA government, which includes TDP, BJP, and Janasena. The party claims a plan is in place to demolish their offices while sparing TDP buildings authorized by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

IT & Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh accused former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of leasing 42 acres of land at nominal rates across 26 districts for YSRCP offices. A government source revealed that many of these structures are unauthorized and in various construction stages, despite some offices, like those in Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Machilipatnam, and Kurnool having received conditional online approvals.

The controversy has escalated amid the Rs 500-crore Rushikonda mansion uproar, a luxurious residence intended for Jagan Mohan Reddy, which became a national issue following the state's governance transition to TDP.
