Gen-Z Indian-American Ashwin Ramaswami Secures Key Endorsement in Georgia Senate Race

Ashwin Ramaswami, the first Gen-Z Indian-American candidate for a U.S. state legislature, has received a significant endorsement from U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff for the Georgia State Senate seat in District 48.

Ramaswami, a 24-year-old Democrat, is challenging incumbent Republican Shawn Still, who has faced indictment over the attempt to overturn Georgia's 2020 election results. “Ashwin Ramaswami would be a tireless advocate for democracy and his constituents,” stated Senator Ossoff.

“He’s running against a MAGA politician charged with trying to steal the 2020 election,” Ossoff added, highlighting the stark contrast. Ramaswami's campaign has gained momentum, notably outraising his opponent with over USD 280,000 in grassroots donations. If victorious, he would become the youngest and the first Indian American representative in Georgia's Senate.
