Indian-origin Pritam Singh has secured re-election as the secretary-general of the Workers' Party (WP) in Singapore, setting the stage for the impending general elections. Singh, who has held the position since 2018, was elected unopposed.

'Fantastic result. We're looking forward to working with this CEC for the next two years,' he told reporters, indicating the Central Executive Committee's preparations for future electoral battles. Sylvia Lim has also been re-elected as chairwoman, leading a team of 14 CEC members.

Singh is scheduled to face a trial in court this October, charged with lying in Parliament regarding a 2021 case involving former WP member Raeesah Khan. Despite these legal challenges, Singh remains a key figure in Singapore's political dynamics.
