Karnataka Deputy CM Vows Election Performance Probe

Karnataka Deputy CM D K Shivakumar has announced the formation of a fact-finding committee to review the Congress party's performance in the recent parliamentary elections. Despite increasing their tally from one to nine seats, the party fell short of its target of 15 seats.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has asserted the need for a comprehensive analysis of the Congress party's recent parliamentary election performance through a fact-finding committee. The ruling Congress managed to secure nine seats, a significant increase from just one seat in 2019, but fell short of its 15-seat target.

Shivakumar revealed that despite some media predictions, the party couldn't fully meet its expectations apart from the Kalyana Karnataka region. The committee, tasked with identifying shortcomings and analyzing performance in each assembly constituency, will submit their findings to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) during its review visit to Karnataka.

Additionally, preparations for upcoming assembly by-elections are underway, following the resignation of three MLAs who won Lok Sabha seats. Reports for the Shiggaon and Sandur constituencies are set for submission, while Minister Chaluvarayaswamy will report on the Channapatna constituency.
