Maharashtra Legislative Council Suspends Leader for Abusive Language

The Maharashtra legislative council has suspended Ambadas Danve, Leader of Opposition and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, for five days for using abusive language in the house against BJP legislator Prasad Lad during a discussion. The council took this step on Tuesday following a majority vote in favor of the suspension.

Danve, affiliated with Shiv Sena (UBT), allegedly used offensive language against BJP legislator Prasad Lad during a heated discussion. The incident occurred after Lad urged for a resolution criticizing Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's remarks in the Lok Sabha.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandrakant Patil introduced the suspension motion, which received a majority vote. Deputy chairperson Neelam Gorhe cited Danve's behavior as tarnishing the council's image and potentially setting a dangerous precedent, leading to his five-day suspension.
