Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday declared that India has contributed 'Buddha' to the world, not 'Yuddha' (war), emphasizing the nation’s commitment to peace and prosperity. Speaking to the Indian diaspora in Vienna, Modi stated that India aims to strengthen its role on the global stage in the 21st century.
Addressing the crowd, Modi reflected on the 75-year friendship between India and Austria, lauding the shared democratic values and multiculturalism of both nations. He noted that his visit was the first by an Indian prime minister in 41 years.
Modi highlighted India’s significant growth, projecting the country to become the third-largest economy by 2047. He also emphasized the importance of leveraging Austrian expertise in green growth and innovation to further India's progress. Austrian Federal Minister of Labour and Economy Martin Kocher joined the event, attended by over 31,000 Indian residents in Austria.
