Former Union minister Smriti Irani, who recently lost the Lok Sabha elections, has vacated her official bungalow at 28 Tughlak Crescent in Lutyens' Delhi, officials confirmed on Thursday.
Irani vacated the bungalow this week, adhering to the mandate for former ministers and MPs to leave their government accommodations within a month after a new government's formation. She was defeated by Congress leader Kishori Lal Sharma from the Amethi parliamentary seat by a margin of over 1.5 lakh votes.
The former women and child development minister gained significant attention in 2019 when she defeated Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from the same seat, earning the title of a 'giant slayer'.
