Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday accused the Congress of 'spreading lies and creating a false narrative' against the BJP-led Centre. Addressing the Chandigarh BJP state executive, she urged party workers to counter this 'falsehood' with facts and data.
Sitharaman pointed out the Congress's failure to secure 250 seats in the last 10 general elections and criticized the party's performance. She noted that the INDI alliance won just 232 seats, whereas the BJP secured 240 seats independently.
The finance minister slammed the Congress for misrepresenting statements from key BJP leaders and spreading falsehoods on issues like the compensation for land acquired for building the Ram temple, the Agnipath scheme, and electronic voting machines. She urged BJP members to counter these claims immediately with data and facts.
