Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav announced on Tuesday that the Congress party will contest the upcoming assembly elections independently, without an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). This decision comes after a successful showing in the recent Lok Sabha elections, which saw a significant increase in the party's vote share.

Yadav, addressing a district Congress Committee meeting, highlighted the renewed energy among party workers and the general public. He stated that this enthusiasm will translate into a stronger performance in the Delhi Assembly polls as the public yearns for change.

During the meeting at Preet Vihar, Yadav also pointed out that local Congress meetings have reinvigorated the party at the grassroots level. He criticized the current government for their failure to address water shortages, power tariff hikes, and waterlogging, while urging Delhiites to participate in the Congress's upcoming demonstrations against the power tariff increase.
