K P Sharma Oli, Nepal's newly appointed Prime Minister, is expected to win a vote of confidence in Parliament on Sunday. This comes nearly a week after he was sworn in to lead another coalition government amid frequent power struggles in the Himalayan nation.
The 72-year-old veteran Communist leader assumed office on Monday, marking his fourth tenure as Prime Minister. He, along with 21 Cabinet members, was administered the oath of office and secrecy.
Per Nepal's Constitution, Oli needs to secure a confidence vote from Parliament within 30 days. With significant support from major parties, Oli is likely to meet the required 138 votes in the 275-member House of Representatives. Despite opposition from three other major parties, Oli's coalition government is well-positioned to surpass this benchmark.
