BJD legislators have been urged to effectively champion the rights of Odisha's people as the assembly session begins on July 22. Former chief minister and Leader of Opposition, Naveen Patnaik, led the meeting where key issues were discussed, including price rises, law and order, and free electricity promises.
Patnaik detailed strategies to be adopted in the House, with a focus on ensuring 100 percent attendance and prioritizing the state's interests. He called for clarification on the BJP’s promise of free electricity up to 300 units.
The meeting, which included all 51 BJD MLAs, also resolved to address mismanagement during Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra and recent communal tensions in Balasore. An all-party meeting has been scheduled by Speaker Surama Padhy on July 21.
