On Tuesday, the NCP (SP) accused the Union Budget unveiled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of disproportionately benefiting NDA allies in Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, while neglecting the needs of Maharashtra.

In a post on 'X', NCP (SP) spokesperson Clyde Crasto expressed his discontent, stating that the Maharashtra electorate would respond aptly in the upcoming assembly elections. Crasto questioned whether the budget was intended for India or merely to shore up NDA's support in key states.

The budget allocated substantial funds for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, with Rs 26,000 crore for highway development in Bihar and Rs 15,000 crore to aid Andhra Pradesh's capital development. Additionally, a comprehensive plan, 'Purvodaya', aims to foster development in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh.
