Union Budget Sparks Debate: Praise from CM Saini, Criticism from Opposition
Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini lauded the Union Budget as balanced and development-oriented, highlighting its potential to boost agriculture and the economy. However, opposition leaders criticized the Budget, calling it disappointing and neglectful of Haryana, with claims of no relief for farmers and the underprivileged.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday praised the Union Budget, calling it balanced, all-encompassing, inclusive, and development-oriented. Yet, opposition leaders from the state termed it disappointing.
Saini believes the budget will accelerate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India by making agriculture profitable, strengthening the economy, and generating employment. In contrast, Congress leaders, including Bhupinder Singh Hooda, criticized the budget for not addressing Haryana's needs and neglecting farmers and the middle class.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's Budget presentation received mixed reactions, highlighting differing political perspectives on its impact. While BJP national secretary O P Dhankar echoed Saini's praise, others, like Congress' Randeep Singh Surjewala, found it lacking in provisions for marginalized communities and job creation.
