Delhi Finance Minister Atishi has slammed the Union Budget, accusing it of betraying the city's taxpayers. Speaking at a press conference, she emphasized that despite Delhi's contribution of over Rs 2 lakh crore in taxes, the city received zero allocation in central taxes.
Atishi highlighted Delhi's demands for budgetary allocation to the MCD, which also went unmet. She stressed that this central government's budget dashed the hopes and aspirations of Delhiites, providing them with no fiscal relief or support.
Contrarily, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva called the budget 'holistic' and 'development-oriented', stating it benefits all societal sections, particularly youth and women, though he noted the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana's increase might not aid Delhi's financially weaker sections.
