Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole stated on Thursday that former state home minister Anil Deshmukh's claim of being pressured to make false statements against key figures in the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government was credible.
Patole emphasized that the political atmosphere has shifted significantly since the Narendra Modi administration took office in 2014, accusing the government of using false charges to jail those who oppose the BJP regime.
Patole further alleged that allies of the BJP in Maharashtra, including the Shiv Sena and NCP, are fearful of actions by the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation. He challenged the current home minister, Devendra Fadnavis, to release any video evidence he may have against Deshmukh, questioning whether Fadnavis was reserving it for strategic use.
