Bihar Legislative Council Ethics Committee Recommends Expulsion for RJD MLC

The ethics committee of the Bihar legislative council has recommended the expulsion of RJD MLC Sunil Kumar Singh for raising slogans against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Singh, close to RJD president Lalu Prasad, displayed unparliamentary behavior during the budget session on February 13. The panel's report, submitted to Chairman Awadhesh Narain Singh, is expected to influence the final decision on Friday.

The ethics committee of the Bihar legislative council has officially recommended the expulsion of RJD MLC Sunil Kumar Singh. He was accused of raising slogans inside the House against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar earlier this year.

Known for his close ties to RJD president Lalu Prasad, Singh allegedly engaged in unparliamentary behavior on February 13 during the budget session. This led the ethics panel, headed by JD(U) MLC Ramvachan Rai, to find him guilty of “unethical conduct.”

The committee’s report, submitted to Chairman Awadhesh Narain Singh, stated that Singh had used derogatory and unparliamentary words against the CM, rendering his behavior unacceptable. A unanimous recommendation for Singh's expulsion was made. The final decision is expected on Friday. Efforts to reach Singh for comments were unsuccessful. Meanwhile, a delegation from the RJD met the chief minister over the issue but refrained from commenting.
