Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Governor Banwarilal Purohit for his frequent visits to border areas, accusing him of fueling an 'atmosphere of conflict' instead of inaugurating academic seminars at universities.

Speaking to reporters in Jalandhar, Mann highlighted that the governor holds a constitutional position and should focus on his designated responsibilities, while the state government would handle theirs.

The chief minister alleged that such actions were politically driven, primarily observed in states where the BJP is not in power, as a means to harass the ruling parties. Purohit is currently touring border districts in Punjab, including Gurdaspur, Pathankot, and Amritsar, meeting with villagers and officials.
