Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will not be attending the Niti Aayog meeting in New Delhi on Saturday, officials confirmed.
Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha will represent the state in his absence. The exact reason for Kumar's nonattendance remains unclear.
Janata Dal (United) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar stated that this isn't the first time the CM has skipped the meeting, mentioning that previous meetings were also attended by the deputy CMs. Four Union ministers from Bihar, who are members of the Aayog, will be present at the meeting.
The ninth governing council meeting of the Aayog aims to discuss the 'Vikshit Bharat@2047' document, which envisions India as a developed nation by 2047. The council includes all chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union territories, and several Union ministers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chairs the Niti Aayog.
