Union Minister Virendra Kumar on Sunday refuted allegations from the opposition that the 2024-25 Union budget discriminates against certain states. He described the claims as 'baseless' and attributed them to the frustration of losing recent Lok Sabha elections.
The Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment emphasized that the Narendra Modi government is committed to equal treatment for all states, under the guiding principle of 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas'.
Addressing reporters at the Bharatiya Janata Party office, he dismissed claims from the Congress-led opposition that states like Bihar and Andhra Pradesh received preferential treatment. Kumar asserted that the budget is development-oriented, benefiting the poor, youth, women, and farmers, and has garnered excitement from both domestic and foreign investors.
